The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed deepest condolences to the government and people of the People's Republic of Bangladesh over the death of dozens of citizens and more than two million people were stranded due to the floods that hit many areas in the north-eastern parts of the country. The Secretary-General stressed that the OIC stands by the government and people of Bangladesh in this ordeal. The OIC Secretary-General offered condolences to the families of the victims, praying Allah for a speedy recovery for the injured, and expressed his full sympathy with the families who were displaced as their homes and properties were destroyed due to the worst floods the region has witnessed in two decades.
