Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Ibrahim Taha offered his sincere condolences to Afghanistan for the victims who passed away in the earthquake that struck the west of the country on Monday. He also expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the dead , asking Allah Almighty to bless them with His mercy and forgiveness, grant the injured and the bereaved a speedy and full recovery, and to protect Afghanistan and its people from all harm. He also called on the international community to expedite the provision of the necessary humanitarian and relief assistance to the people of Afghanistan, who are already suffering from a deteriorating humanitarian situation and fragile security conditions and from the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and a hard winter season for vulnerable groups of children, women and the elderly.
