Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha yesterday held a meeting with his counterparts of Rwanda and Finland with the aim of enhancing strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their respective countries. He also discussed with them means to enhance cooperation mechanisms in the fields of technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and building digital capacity. The minister also held several meetings with a number of heads of major companies working in various technological fields to discuss available investment opportunities in the fields of technology, research and development, and innovation in a step aiming to developing the digital economy and innovation-based economy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These meetings were held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum that was held in person in Davos, Switzerland. As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's endeavors to instill its status as a regional hub for technology and innovation, the minister met with leaders of major technology and communications companies, such as CEO of Tech Mahindra Chander Prakash, Chairman of Bharti Enterprises Sunil Bharti Mittal, and Alibaba Group President J. Michael Evans. They went over means to enhance cooperation, build up partnerships in emerging technologies fields, support research centers, and reviewed investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
