President of the Republic of Niger Mohamed Bazoum received yesterday in Niamey Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Africa Nassirou Bako-Arifari, who is carrying out a mission in the West African sub-region. During the meeting, the Special Envoy delivered to President Bazoum a written message from the Secretary-General of the OIC, Hissein Brahim Taha. The Special Envoy underlined the important role played by Niger within the OIC and in the region. They also discussed developments in the political and security situation in the West African sub-region and the need for joint efforts between OIC and ECOWAS in this regard.
