A spokesman for the British Foreign and Development Office said, "His country welcomes the announcement of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, of reaching a two-month truce in Yemen." The United Kingdom also welcomed the recent political consultations led by the United Nations Special Envoy, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s initiative for inter-Yemeni dialogue, stressing that there is no military solution to the war in Yemen, but rather an inclusive political dialogue is the only way to reach a sustainable solution.
