Jordan on Wednesday welcomed the launch of an Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue in Riyadh under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also welcomed an announcement by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen to cease all military operations in the country as of today. Haitham Abu al-Fool, the Jordanian ministry's spokesperson, underlined Jordan's support for efforts to end the Yemeni crisis through a political solution based on the approved references, including the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive Yemeni National Dialogue, and the United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2216. He also lauded Saudi Arabia's efforts and initiatives that aimed at putting an end to the crisis and achieving security and stability in Yemen. He indicated that Jordan supports the efforts and endeavors of the United Nations to resolve the Yemeni crisis, calling on the Yemeni parties to use the consultations to find a political solution to the crisis.
