The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is scheduled to participate in the 59th Venice Art Biennale, which will be held under the theme "The Milk of Dreams" between April 23 and November 27, 2022, with a creative pavilion supervised by Visual Arts Commission that will see the participation of artist Muhannad Shuno, curator Reem Faddah and assistant art curator Rotana Shaker. The Saudi pavilion is designed by a request from the Virtual Arts Commission with a content that reflects the developed creative scene that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is living. In this regard, CEO of the Visual Arts Commission Dina Amin stressed that Saudi Arabia's pavilion at the 2022 Venice Art Biennale will again shed light on prominent talents of the creative community inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that the Venice Art Biennale, with its high value and size of international audience it attracts, represents a unique opportunity to celebrate the joint language of creativity and highlight the emerging Saudi voices. Art works in the Saudi pavilion offers creative contents according to a philosophical approach related to nature and what it can provide for mankind. The Venice Art Biennale will be held under the theme "The Milk of Dreams", inspired by a children's book from the 1950s with the same title by surrealist artist Leonora Carrington. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's participation in Venice Art Biennale reflects its growing presence at the international cultural level, the development of its creative visual arts in light of the renaissance that the Saudi cultural sector lives under the Saudi Vision 2030 with its cultural targets that support creativity and creative Saudis in all fields.
