Saudi ambassador to India Salih bin Mohammed Al-Ghamidi participated in an economic conference held in the Indian city of Calcutta on Jan 11-14, 2005. Addressing the conference, Al-Ghamidi shed light on the investment opportunities available in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as on the incentives and facilities being extended to the investors under the new investment system which is carried out under the supervision of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA). He underscored the importance of exchanging visits by the Saudi and Indian businessmen, and boosting trade exchange between the Kingdom and India. The conference was attended by delegations from various countries of the world including some of the GCC member states. On his part, Omani Minister of Trade and Industry Makboul Ali Sultan highlighted the existing commercial and economic relations between the GCC member states and India.
