The Embassy of India, Riyadh and the India Business Forum (IBF), Riyadh in collaboration with the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) organized the “ India-SAGIA seminar – Promoting India-Saudi Partnership” at SAGIA headquarters here last week. The seminar was attended by more than 50 members of both chapters of India Business Forum from Riyadh and Dammam. A comprehensive and extremely beneficial presentation was made by Mr Abdulrahman A. Al-Sufiany, Vice President-SAGIA Fund Initiative, SAGIA, on investment opportunities for Indian companies in Saudi Arabia, with a special focus on emerging areas like construction, infrastructure development, transportation, railways etc. This was followed by another useful presentation on licensing procedures and a visual tour of King Abdullah Economic Cities. The event ended with a productive interactive question & answer session. It is pertinent to mention here that the India Business Forum, (Riyadh & Dammam chapters) was established under the aegis of the Embassy of India and since then, this non-profit body has gone from strength to strength. Both chapters have been organizing a number of business activities over the last year. The forum was established to promote India-Saudi bilateral commercial and economic cooperation; to provide a platform for Indian businessmen and companies to share commercial and economic information and to interact with Saudi businesses to promote bilateral trade and investments.
