The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has seized more than 21 tons of spoiled and expired food in an unlicensed facility in Madinah. SFDA explained that the violating facility is storing food products without obtaining a license from SFDA, amid a low level of hygiene and the presence of insects and dust inside the facility. SFDA indicated that it imposed penalties against the facility in accordance with the Food Law and its Executive Regulations, as no facility under the supervision of the SFDA has the right to start practicing its activity until obtaining a license and complying with the requirements and specifications. To apply for a warehouse license or food distribution center with the SFDA, visit the Unified Electronic System (GHAD) via the following link: https://ghad.sfda.gov.sa/en. GHAD provides many electronic services that facilitate investors submitting and following up their requests, paying the required fees, and completing their various procedures without the need to go to the SFDA's branches. SFDA urged consumers to report any such violations by calling the unified number (19999) or via the Tammini app.
