The Arab Economic and Social Council is scheduled to hold its 109th ordinary session at the ministerial level tomorrow at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, under the presidency of Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea, and the participation of Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and the Arab ministers. In a statement issued today, the Secretariat General of the Arab League said that preparatory meetings of the Economic and Social Council at the level of experts and senior officials, that were held between 6th-9th, February, witnessed handing over the periodic presidency from Libya to Egypt according to the alphabetic order of member states and according to the internal rules and regulations of the council. The statement noted that the meetings of the new session will discuss several important issues, mainly the economic and social file.
