The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority at the Empty Quarter port connecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman today started providing the services for travelers to and from the Kingdom, and facilitating truck and vehicle movement procedures, after the official announcement of the phased inauguration of the port. The port includes a passenger area and a cargo, in addition to the administrative and the temporary housing areas for employees. The passenger area at the port has a capacity of 1,700 vehicles per day, while the cargo area has a capacity of 966 trucks per day.
