The 37th session of the Arab justice ministers kicked off today at the Arab League under the presidency of Algeria and the participation of justice ministers or their representatives, in the presence of Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, representatives of the secretariat general of the council of Arab interior ministers, the secretariat general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States and Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. Saudi Justice Minister Dr. Walid Al-Samani headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the meeting. The ministerial council will discuss draft laws related to items on the agenda of the meeting, before their endorsement with the aim of enhancing Arab and international cooperation in legal and judicial fields and activating Arab judicial agreements concerned with combating terrorism. Top items of this session include: combating terrorism; unifying Arab laws; Arab anti-corruption agreement; pan-Arab draft agreement on the organization of refugee affairs; pan-Arab draft agreement on protecting and helping internally displaced refugees in the Arab region; the efforts of Arab justice ministries during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and the efforts of the Arab journal of jurisprudence and judiciary in spreading the legal and judicial ideology in the Arab world.
