Official Spokesman of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) Major Mohammed Al-Nujaidi said that the continuous security follow-up of criminal network activities, which target to tamper with the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its youth, has led to foiling a large attempt to smuggle 5,246,000 amphetamine pills hidden inside a grape container via Jeddah Islamic Port. The attempt was foiled in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, where the recipients of the shipment, two Jordanians and a Syrian, were arrested in Riyadh and Jeddah. Major Al-Nujaidi said that the three were arrested and preliminary legal measures have been taken against them and duly referred to the public prosecution.
