Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh arrives in Pakistan on Wednesday (January 5) for talks with his Pakistani counterpart, officials said. He will hold talks with his Pakistani counterpart Amanullah Khan Jadoon. This week a four-member delegation of Pakistan's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources held talks in Tehran on the proposed gas pipeline project between the two countries. They reviewed the progress so far made on the project. Zanganeh's visit is regarded as a continuation of the ongoing discussions between Pakistan and Iran to finalize a formal agreement on the pipeline. Officials said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is to shortly visit Iran to preside over a joint ministerial commission meeting. Cabinet ministers and high-ranking officials will be part of his entourage.
