Quds city, Dec 26, SPA -- Prime Minister Ariel Sharon asked his Cabinet Sunday to approve a range of measures meant to ensure a smooth Palestinian presidential election, including granting Palestinians freedom of movement and allowing candidates to campaign in Al-Quds city. "I view the approval of these understandings as greatly important," Sharon said at the beginning of the meeting. "It is important that it be made clear to the whole world that Israel allowed free, fair and efficient elections." The proposal presented to the ministers calls for an easing of military restrictions throughout the West Bank and Gaza in the run up to the Jan.9 vote. Immediately ahead of the election, the military will completely pull out of all Palestinian population centers, according to the proposal.
