Minister of Agriculture Dr Fahd Balghunaim inaugurated here today a seminar on "Poultry Industry," organized by the Arab Company for Integrated Services. Addressing the seminar's inaugural session, Ibrahim Al-Thenian, the Director of the Arab Company for Integrated Services, said the seminar will focus on the importance of the participation with the governmental sector for the development of poultry industry. He underlined the importance of coordination and cooperation between the Agriculture Ministry and the Society of Poultry Producers. On his part, Balghunaim said the poultry production in the Kingdom had witnessed swift developments in line with the State's policy which encourages the private sector to positively contribute to the development of this sector. He reiterated the keenness of the Ministry of Agriculture on developing this sector and removing all obstacles that might face it. Meanwhile, in a statement at the end of the inaugural session, Dr Balguhnaim denied whether the poultry sector was facing the menace of epidemic diseases. Asked about causes in price-rise of urea fertilizer, he attributed the increase to international causes, and added 'but the farmers will be supported to confront such changes in prices'.
