The Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi has expressed confidence that cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Sultanate of Oman would form a new launching point to enhance the quality and safety of imported and exported commodities between the two countries' markets. He stressed that this cooperation will contribute to developing trade volume between the two countries, ensuring the quality of imported and exported items, overcoming technical obstacles hindering trade and guaranteeing the safety of consumers. In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the occasion of the visit of Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarik, Dr. Al-Qasabi said that cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Oman in standardization activities will include the fields of standards, quality, metrology, calibration and laboratories. This is in addition to verifying metrology, cooperation in achieving requirements of the safety of consumers, exchanging information, studies and research, coordination in regional and international events related to standardization activities, transferring expertise and knowledge, and exchanging visits and experts in relevant fields.
