The Islamic Conference for the Ministers of Culture, which ended its deliberations here on Thursday, reiterated that the Islamic culture is the culture of progress, innovation, science and action. The Declaration of Algiers, issued by the Ministers of Culture, underlined the importance of adherence to the Islamic identity and culture as well as positive reaction with other cultures and civilizations. The Declaration reiterated its conviction with the culture of diversification within the framework of an international policy based on dialogue and peace. It condemned and deplored all forms of terrorism and violence, but it reiterated the right of the nations that might face the menace of occupation to resist and defend their cultures and identities, and said 'it is an essential matter to differentiate between terrorism and the legal resistance'. The Declaration confirmed the keenness of the Muslim countries to work for enhancing relations with others through the Islamic centers abroad and to extend support to international research centers. The Declaration underscored the importance of the culture of justice, peace and tolerance, and said it is not possible to separate between peace and justice . The Declaration lauded the efforts exerted by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) for the implementation of the resolutions issued by the Islamic Conference for the Ministers of Culture.
