Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, chaired the cabinet's weekly session held at Al-Yamamah palace in Riyadh on Monday. At the outset of the session, the Cabinet denounced the terrorist act committed against the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah today, reiterating the Kingdom's commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and to tracking down its perpetrators until they are uprooted. The Cabinet appreciated the great and continuous efforts exerted by the brave armed forces servicemen in combating terrorism and their continuous keenness on preserving the Kingdom's security and safety. Then, the Cabinet was briefed on the talks held by the Crown Prince with Jordan's King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein which focused on the latest developments at Arab, Islamic and international arenas particularly the situation in Iraq and the Palestinian issue. The talks also dealt with the cooperation between the two countries and ways of enhancing it for the interests of the two brotherly countries and their peoples. With regard to Iraq, the Cabinet expressed its great regret over the killing of the innocent and the destruction of Iraq's infrastructure, calling on all Iraqis to unite and work together to come out of this difficult stalemate from which Iraq is suffering at security, economic and social arenas, and to achieve security and stability, to maintain its independence, sovereignty, and national unity and to resume its role as an effective member of the world community. --More 2009 Local Time 1709 GMT
