Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard chaired on Monday the cabinet's weekly session at Al-Salam palace in Jeddah. At the outset of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the talks held by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince with Iraq's Premier Dr. Iyad Allawi. The talks focused on the developments in Iraq and the Kingdom's interest in Iraq's unity, sovereignty , stability and security as well as Iraq's rebuilding and growth. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Fuad bin Abdulsalam Al-Farsi said that the Cabinet pointed to the consequences of an attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque that might be committed by Israeli extremist elements. The attack will have great negative effects on Muslims' feelings in particular and the whole world in general and will yield negative results since the Mosque has a special status in the hearts of all Muslims. The minister added that the Kingdom followed with great concern the developments at the Palestinian arena, Israel's continuing escalation against the Palestinian people and Israeli persistent policies which aim at changing the situation on the ground including Israeli government's plan to set up a Jewish settlement east of the occupied Al-Quds that can accommodate 55,000 persons in addition to the annexation of a number of Palestinian villages by encircling them inside the Israeli racial wall. --More 2021 Local Time 1721 GMT
