Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen has welcomed the Ministry of Hajj's announcement to hold Hajj this year according to health, security and organizational measures that guarantee maintaining the health of pilgrims and visitors and performing rituals easily and in a safe environment. The secretary general also praised the continuous keenness of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, head of the Islamic summit, and HRH the Crown Prince, on enabling Muslims to perform Hajj and Umrah. Al-Othaimeen also commended the attention and care of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the health and safety of worshippers, referring to the success in organizing last year's Hajj through providing the utmost attention to the health and safety of worshippers under precautionary measures and preventive procedures against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in a way that conforms to Sharia teachings in preserving lives. He stressed that caring for worshippers is part of the approach that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' government has been adopting since Allah has granted it the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques, commending, at the same time, the big capabilities the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia possesses in organizing Hajj under the COVID-19 pandemic.
