A 16-year-old Hong Kong girl was Saturday arrested for throwing her newborn baby boy to its death from a high- rise apartment block. The teenager was arrested after the baby, with its umbilical cord still attached, was found dead at the foot of the block of flats in the city's Tseung Kwan O district. Police conducted door-to-door inquiries after the infant was found at 4 a.m. and arrested the girl in her home, a police spokesman said. The spokesman said it appeared the girl had thrown the newborn baby out of a window high up in the building after giving birth early Saturday morning. The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment where she was placed under arrest for suspected infanticide. Two years ago, a 15-year-old girl was put on probation after throwing her newborn baby son to his death from a 12th floor toilet window in Hong Kong.
