Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus is set to fly to the Ukainian capital Kiev Friday afternoon to help negotiate and end to the current political crisis, a presidential spokesman announced. The spokesman said Adamkus will join his counterpart, Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, in Ukraine to seek a settlement to the tense stand-off over allegations of massive vote rigging in last Sunday's presidential election. Adamkus held telephone consultations on Thursday with Kwasniewski and outgoing President Leonid Kuchma on the political deadlock.
