China's deputy premier confers with German leader

China's Deputy Premier Zeng Peiyan conferred in Berlin Thursday with Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on the German leader's upcoming trip to Beijing.
Trade issues and the chancellor's itinerary were the topics of discussion, according to a spokesman for Schroeder.
Zeng is to accompany Schroeder on his tour of industrial sites in northeastern China during the chancellor's trip to China and Japan December 6-10.
