German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and French President Jacques Chirac will meet month in the northern German city of Luebeck, a spokesman said Monday. "There's no set agenda," said the spokesman, adding that informal talks would likely focus on European Union (E.U.) issues in the run-up to the bloc's December 17 and 18 summit in Brussels which is expected to give a green light to opening membership talks with Turkey. During their December 2 meeting in the medieval city of Luebeck, Chirac and Schroeder will also visit the Buddenbrooks House made famous in a novel by German writer Thomas Mann, titled "The Buddenbrooks: the Decline of a Family."
