German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder on Wednesday praised an EU report expected to pave the way to starting EU membership talks with Turkey and said Germany would vote to begin talks at a meeting of EU leaders in December. The document, to be made public later Wednesday, was "a good and serious report," Schroeder told reporters in New Delhi during his tour of Asia. The report made clear that the talks would be a serious effort to achieve Turkey's long-sought membership and would be "about nothing else," Schroeder said.
