Dr. Naif Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States, praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts on accelerating the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement signed between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council. In a statement, Al-Hajraf welcomed the completion of the necessary measures to implement the military and security part of the agreement and the annunciation of the newly formed government as soon as the implementation of the military part is completed. He also affirmed the GCC states' keenness to restore security and stability in Yemen and the support of reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue and Security Council Resolution no. 2216.
