The General Court of Audit (GCA), through the Saudi Center for Financial and Performance Auditing (SCFPA), delivered on Sunday, October 11, 2020, 75 training programs and 2 professional seminars targeting 3000 employees from auditees. Dr. Salem Al Ghamdi, the Manager of SCFPA indicated that the provided training programs are in six major areas: internal audit, government accounting, performance audit, financial audit, risk based audit, and data processing audit. Moreover, SCFPA organized workshops for 1435 employees from different government agencies. Dr. Al Ghamdi added that SCFPA organized two professional seminars: one on internal audit during COVID-19 Pandemic and the other on spending efficiency and sustainable economy in the public sector benefiting more 1597 participants from different government agencies. The two seminars shed light on the role of internal audit in providing possible solutions during the pandemic and spreading awareness of the importance of achieving efficiency in spending and the best use of resources in public sector. Furthermore, Dr. Al Ghamdi added that delivering these training programs and seminars comes as part of assuring the new released identity of GCA and assuring the achievement of its strategic plan, which seeks to promote partnership, achieve integration, and provide an added value to auditees. Moreover, Dr. Al Ghamdi indicated that GCA, through SCFPA, is going forward to provide more training programs for the employees of auditees in its 2021 training plan, which aims at promoting fruitful cooperation and developing the abilities of auditees employees in financial departments and internal audit units. The training programs will provide them with the necessary skills that can enhance their performance and knowledge in accounting, which would eventually contribute to strengthening the constituents of active audit, which will lead to protecting and rationalize spending of public money.
