President of GCA chairs the Board of Directors of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors

The Board of Directors of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors held the third meeting of the third cycle on Monday, December 28, 2020 in the Headquarter of the General Court of Audit (GCA) in Riyadh. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of General Court of Audit (GCA) and Chairman of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors Board of Directors.
Dr. Alangari opened the meeting by words of thanks and appreciation to the Leadership for making the President of GCA as the Chairman of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors Board of Directors. Dr. Alangari valued the great support provided by the prudent leadership to the profession of the internal auditing. Dr. Alangari pointed out that the role of internal auditing is becoming more important due to its extended role that goes beyond the activities of auditing financial activities to include the audit of overall performance, which makes internal auditing an added value tool to entities.
Abdullah bin Saleh Al Shubaily, the Chief Executive Officer of IIA presented in the meeting the recommendations of the last meeting in addition to the latest development on the current projects and the agenda of the future projects.
Later on, the Board discussed the a number of agenda items of which is ways of developing the services provided by IIA to both public and private sectors in order to promote the internal audit profession in the Kingdom and achieve the goals of IIA.
At the of the meeting Al Shubaily presented his thanks and appreciation to Dr. Alangari, Chairman of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors Board of Directors and to all Directors for their continuous follow-up for the Institute businesses.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first meeting of Board of Directors to be held under the leadership of the President of GCA after the issuance of the Royal Decree that made GCA President as the Chairman of the IIA Board of Directors instead of the Minister of Commerce.
