Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that throughout history, Saudi Arabia's policy with its allies is based on cooperation that serves security, stability, and unity of ranks to achieve regional peace. Today, Saudi Arabia is leading the beginning of a solution to a current crisis to bring together the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries states, as this crisis is another of those many challenges that faced the Gulf Cooperation Council countries over the past decades, the paper added. In spite of the succession of challenges, Saudi Arabia's firm approach aims at preserving the security of all Gulf states. These efforts are also an extension of its policy that aims to establish security and stability based on the Kingdom's role in the region and the world, as well as its leadership roles in the unity of the Gulf ranks and regional and international stability, the newspaper concluded. In another context, Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that domestic tourism is a major tributary to the national economy; therefore HRH the Crown Prince has announced mega projects that would turn Saudi Arabia into a tourist destination and a global attraction, which would also enhance investment and improve the quality of life. The paper said that the tourism sector witnessed a qualitative leap as this culminated in the transformation of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) into the Ministry of Tourism to enable it to stimulate domestic tourism and take advantage of the enormous potential that Saudi Arabia has in this area. The newspaper concluded that the Saudi tourism sector has been affected by the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, but the ministry has been able to overcome the effects of the crisis with strict adherence to precautionary and preventive measures. The ministry launched distinguished programs and events, while work continues in its mega and world-leading tourism projects.
