Prince Turki Al-Faisal, the Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland stressed on Wednesday evening the constructive role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defending the Palestinian cause. In an address here at a seminar on "Support for Al-Quds," Prince Turki highlighted the Kingdom's role ever since the late King Abdulaziz and his sons after him. He noted that the Arabs and the Muslims think that the International community, especially the British Government, have let them down for their non-commitment to Arab and Muslims rights in Palestine. He regretted the double-standards of the west, noting that this has made the Palestinian issue a very difficult one in the face of the world. Prince Turki pointed out to the Israeli crimes in Al-Quds and other Palestinians territories, noting that the Israeli security wall in the Palestinians territories is basically to create a border in reality between Israel and a future Palestinian state. He expressed hope that U.S. President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair, will pay their utmost attention to find a just solution to the Palestinian cause. The seminar was held in the British Parliament. It was organized by the Council for Arab-British Understanding.
