The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), through the Transportation Program for Working Women (Wusool), provides a monthly financial support from SR800 to SR1100 to Saudi female employees in the private sector for a period of 24 months. HRDF explained that those who meet the requirements and enrolled in the program can benefit from the support through deducting 80% of the cost of each trip. This comes after HRDF raised the support amount to SR800 for beneficiaries whose monthly wages are less than 6,000 SR, and 800 SR monthly for beneficiaries whose monthly wages between 6001 and 8000 SR. HRDF has previously improved the Program by extending its support period to 24 months instead of 12 months and changing its subsidy for supported trips from SR800 to SR1,100. This came with the aim to register the largest number of beneficiaries, in light of the HRDF's support for empowerment of Saudi women in the private sector. Wusool Program aims to find solutions to reduce the transportation costs for Saudi women working in the private sector, and to improve and develop the environment needed to transport women from and to workplaces, by ensuring high-safety, high-quality and safe transportation service, in partnership with companies directing private taxis via smart applications.
