The International Committee for Trade Security and Facilitation of the World Customs Organization (WCO) elected Deputy Governor for Trade Facilitation at the Saudi Customs and Representative of the Saudi Customs Eng. Abdulrahman bin Suliman Al-Thukair as Chairman of the Committee, after assuming the position of vice chairman for two years. This came during the periodic meeting of the Committee which was held by the WCO last Wednesday and concluded today, as the meeting discussed a number of topics including the implications of the Coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the customs and how to deal with such crises in the future, updating the general frameworks in trade security and facilitation, and ways of cooperation with regard to air cargo security.
