Kidnappers released a Jordanian businessman Tuesday, two weeks after he was taken hostage in Iraq, the official Petra news agency reported. Ziad Jabr Abu Irfai is in the custody of the Jordanian Embassy in Baghdad and is expected to return home on Tuesday evening, Petra said, quoting an unnamed Foreign Ministry official. Government officials were not immediately available for comment. Irfai's father, Jabr Abu Irfai, told The Associated Press last week that the kidnappers had demanded ransom of US$150,000 (euro120,300). It was not clear Tuesday if the ransom had been paid. Ziad Jabr Abu Irfai, who went missing in Iraq on Oct. 12, is in the custody of Jordanian Embassy personnel in Baghdad and is expected to return home Tuesday evening, Petra said, quoting an unnamed Foreign Ministry official.
