Speaker of the Arab Parliament Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salami condemned, in the strongest terms, the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia launching of a bomb-laden UAV targeting travelers at Abha International Airport. The bomb-laden UAV was intercepted and destroyed by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen. As a result of the interception and destruction, debris scattered across Abha International Airport. No injuries among passengers nor airport personnel were recorded. In a statement, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament affirmed that the militia's targeting of Abha International Airport is a cowardly terrorist act targeting the lives of innocent civilians and civilian objects, who are protected by international law, which requires urgent international action to hold the Houthi militia accountable for its terrorist acts in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law. Dr. Al-Salami expressed the solidarity and full standing of the Arab Parliament with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for the measures it takes to defend its lands and preserve its security and the safety of its citizens and expatriates on its lands.
