Annan Praises Hariri as 'Good Partner'

U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan said today that outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri "served commendably in difficult circumstances." Hariri announced yesterday he would resign and dissolve his cabinet.
"The secretary general takes note of the resignation," Annan spokeswoman Marie Okabe told reporters. "Hariri has been a good partner in the international community and in the best interests of Lebanon."
