Saudi Arabia is participating in all global efforts to support research and provide successful vaccines or treatments to combat COVID-19, Health Ministry Spokesperson reports
Assistant Minister of Health and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali confirmed today that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating in all global efforts to support world-wide research as well as the provision of successful vaccines or treatments to combat the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), indicating that work is being carried out continuously by Saudi competent authorities to ensure and follow up the developments on vaccines, citing the recent announcements of clinical application trials or advanced research for some of these vaccines. In a statement, Al-Abdulaali said that 1,569 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing the total number to 293,037 cases, including 32,499 active cases receiving necessary medical care. Of these, there are 1,826 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable, he added. Al-Abdulaali concluded that as many as 2,151 cases have recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 257,269. He also said that 36 new deaths have been reported, bringing the total deaths to 3,269.
