The GCC Ministerial Committee for Post and Telecommunications held its 26th meeting today, via video conference, chaired by Vice Chairman of the General Authority for the Telecommunications Regulatory in the United Arab Emirates Walid bin Falah Al Mansouri, and the presence of Ministers of Telecommunications and heads of postal and telecommunications bodies in the GCC, and the participation of the GCC Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf. The meeting discussed many topics related to common aspects of cooperation between member states in the areas of post and telecommunications. In the field of post, the meeting discussed the unified draft law regulating the activities of private companies and institutions working in the field of express mail. In the field of telecommunications, the participants discussed the consumer protection, the mechanism for settling disputes arising between operators, and a mechanism for preparing a periodic report on the indicators of the telecommunications sector, markets analysis and monitoring in the GCC countries.
