The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, welcomed the report that has been recently issued by the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, which unequivocally proved Iran's direct responsibility for the terrorist attacks targeting oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais, as well as Abha International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2019. Aboul Gheit said in a statement today "The report issued by UN Secretary-General supports numerous evidence that pointed the finger at Iran as being involved in these terrorist attacks, and others in the Arab Gulf, as well as Yemen, stressing the necessity that the international community should hold Iran fully responsible for the consequences of these dangerous destabilizing actions in the region, especially after it has been proven with certainty that the weapons used in these attacks are of Iranian origin. He stressed that Guterres report is the 9th of its kind on the implementation of Security Council resolution 2231 (2015), according to which the Iranian nuclear agreement was approved, and it is concerned with following Iran's activities in the region and the extent of its commitment to the determinants of the nuclear agreement. Abul-Gheit further said that the report exposes the hostile Iranian plotting activities in the region targeting a number of Arab countries and affirms that Iran has not fulfilled its obligations under this Security Council resolution.
