The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate in the High-level Political Forum 2020, United Nations central platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, which will be held this year virtually due to Coronavirus pandemic. This participation comes as a part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to continue the process of achieving sustainable development goals. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be represented at the forum by a number of government agencies led by the Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan. The forum will be held from today, Tuesday, 07 July, to Friday, 17 July 2020, under the theme of "Accelerated Action and Transformative Pathways: Realizing the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development". During the forum, the annual progress report on the sustainable development goals will be launched, which will include the efforts of participating countries, their projects and initiatives to achieve the 2030 sustainable development goals. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participates in the High-level Political Forum 2020 during its G20 presidency. Through its participation, Saudi Arabia confirms its global efforts and its awareness of the importance of the international community's cooperation in achieving common goals, through its contributions globally in assisting countries affected by disasters and its continuous support for international organizations, especially during the Coronavirus pandemic. Saudi Arabia's delegation will highlight local efforts during the pandemic including initiatives supporting the health sector and the economy and the government's support for private sector enterprises and investors to preserve economic gains. The representatives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will also shed light on Saudi Arabia's determined road map to achieve the sustainable development goals, and the progress made through programs, initiatives and projects that go in harmony with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
