Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues, at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced since the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic 142 initiatives with value exceeding SAR 214 billion, as financial support for the individuals, private sector enterprises and investors to overcome this crisis. On global level, the paper added that Saudi Arabia provided $ 500 million as contribution to support international efforts to combat COVID-19 pandemic. The paper concluded that Saudi Arabia provided financial support amounting to $ 25 million to support WHO's efforts in combating the outbreak of Coronavirus Pandemic in Yemen, in addition to $ 4 million to Palestine in-kind aid and $ 3 million to Somalia. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia assumed a world-leading position in the field of human rights due its strict adherence to the provisions of Islamic Sharia, which prohibits all forms of insult to human dignity. On the international level, the paper added that Saudi Arabia exerted unprecedented efforts in combating trafficking in persons, especially women and children, demanding that the human rights must include trafficked persons in the efforts to prevent trafficking and protect the victims.
