Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Bilad and Al-Yaum newspapers said in their editorials that the current stage of addressing the coronavirus pandemic requires more awareness to pass and overcome its effects and repercussions. The papers pointed out that the strict adherence to precautionary instructions, such as social divergence and wearing masks, are the most important of the current stage. The papers added that the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was keen to take everything that preserves the health of citizens and residents, and fund the concerned authorities to enhance their capabilities in facing the spread of the virus. The papers pointed to the study issued by the Arab Federation for Human Rights on measuring the obligations of countries to respect and promote human rights in light of the emerging coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), highlighting the leading positions of Saudi Arabia over the world's countries in terms of support human's health and economy. Okaz newspaper said in its editorial that Saudi Arabia continues its sincere efforts towards finding a solution to the Yemeni crisis, ending the conflict according to internationally recognized references. The paper said that Saudi Arabia-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen declared a ceasefire to support the United Nations efforts to end the war, which has been going on for five years, and to prepare the atmosphere for facing the coronavirus outbreak, but the Iranian-backed Houthi militias have not paid attention to all these initiatives, because they do not have the decision which controlled by Iran. The paper concluded that the international community is required to have more deterrent sanctions and decisions against the Iranian violations and the insistence of its Houthi militia to target civilian objects and economic installations in Saudi Arabia.
