The Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC), one of the companies owned by the public investment fund in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reached the final stages of building the first construction waste recycling facility in Riyadh to be operational by the end of next July, and followed by a series of facilities later. It is worth mentioning that starting this facility is considered a first step for implementing the comprehensive strategy of the waste management sector in Riyadh and achieving a set of strategic goals for recycling. Riyadh Municipality allocated an area of 1.3 million square meters for the facility that will handle approximately 600 tons of construction and demolition waste in Riyadh per hour, and achieve recycling rates of more than 90%. The facility will use advanced technology and be provided with innovative mobile equipment that can be moved between recycling sites and retrofitted to deal with various absorptive capacities according to local needs.
