The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mouallimi has affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's organizing, in partnership with the United Nations next Tuesday, the virtual Yemen High-Level Pledging Event 2020, and its support for efforts and all necessary capabilities to achieve this event's success, embody the Kingdom's humanitarian roles at all levels and affirm its high status as one of the world's largest donors and supporters of Yemen and its people during the past decades. He said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency that the event aims to shed light on the humanitarian situation in Yemen, in addition to seeking financial pledges from various countries of the world to help the United Nations to address humanitarian and health problems in Yemen, as these problems are exacerbated by Iranian-backed Houthi militias through continuously violating truces, conventions, customs and international laws. Ambassador Al-Mouallimi expressed his wishes for the success of the event and that it will achieve desired goals in a way that would bring progress and prosperity to Yemen and its people.
