The Council of the Human Rights Commission held its eighth session of the fourth year of the third term, headed by President of the HRC Commission Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad via a virtual network. At the outset of the meeting, the Council praised the Royal Orders and Directives issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince as well as the efforts made by the State to limit the spread of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of its keenness to protect the health of citizens both at home and abroad and of residents staying in its territories. Dr. Al-Awwad expressed his appreciation that these orders and decisions observed human rights and emphasized the preservation of human dignity. The Council also praised HRH the Crown Prince's crisis management of the Corona epidemic and the successes achieved by the Kingdom in this respect under his leadership, as well as the high degree of transparency used in dealing with this epidemic, as His Royal Highness directed. "Such measures had a significant role in combating this epidemic and limiting its spread," Al-Awwad said. In this meeting, the Council discussed a number of topics on its agenda, reviewed the report of the Committee on Criminal Justice Affairs and the report of the Committee on the Family, Women and Children, and took a number of measures in this regard.
