An explosion killed 13 people at a state-owned steel plant in northern China's Hebei province, officials and state media said on Friday. The blast ripped through a power unit at the plant in Hebei's Wu'an city on Thursday afternoon during a trial operation, a provincial safety official told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa by telephone. Rescue workers had recovered all 13 bodies and no other workers were reported missing, the official said. Several people were also injured according to state media, but the official could not give details. He said the power unit used waste gas from a boiler to generate electricity. The cause of the accident was under investigation, he said.
