The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) reaffirmed supporting and taking the side of the Palestinian people and efforts aimed at reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, as well as supporting the security and stability of Yemen, stressing its concern over the unity, sovereignty and integrity of Arab territories, and that rejection of any prejudice that may threaten the security and stability of the region. Minister of State for African Countries Affairs Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan, head of the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said before the 153rd meeting of the League's Council, held at the ministerial level and chaired by the Sultanate of Oman, here today. At the forefront of these issues is the Palestinian issue and fulfilling its hopes for establishing an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty over the Palestinian territories, with the 1967 borders and its capital East Jerusalem, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, he added. We will continue to support our Palestinian brothers to obtain these rights and exert more efforts besides the great and pioneering efforts made by the Kingdom in supporting the Palestinian people and standing by it in all international forums, in order to obtain their legitimate rights, he emphasized. He indicated that the Kingdom puts peaceful solutions before any other solution, and also supports political solutions regarding crises in Syria, Libya and Sudan, and supports the political solution, in Yemen, based on the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the Gulf Initiative and its implementing mechanisms and Security Council Resolution 2216. Qattan noted that the Kingdom is appealing to the international community to pay more attention to stopping Houthi militias backed by Iran from its repeated attacks with missiles and drones targeting civilian population areas, airports, facilities and civilians in the Kingdom. He also stressed the Kingdom's assertion since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis of the need to adhere to the Geneva Declaration (1), Security Council Resolution (2254) and to cooperate fully with the UN envoy to Syria and all relevant parties. Qattan drew attention to the fact that the Libyan crisis has not been absent from the Kingdom's foreign policy concerns, as the Kingdom continues to call on the brothers in Libya to heed to the need for restraint and the supreme interest to preserve the unity and integrity of Libyan lands national sovereignty. The Minister drew attention to the wise decisions taken by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, prescribing a number of precautionary measures to prevent the outbreak of the novel Corona virus in accordance with international standards, and among these measures are the suspension of Umrah visas and the visit of the Holy Prophet's Mosque temporarily, as a legitimate duty. Pointing out the challenges facing the Arab region, he squarely blamed the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism, which permitted the killing of innocents and violated all tolerant religious teachings, moral principles, human values and norms, and spread chaos, destruction and ruin, noting that the Kingdom has endeavored with all security and legal means to combat this phenomenon and warn against its danger, and has established alliances, at regional as well as international levels, to confront it and refuses to link it to the true Islamic religion, which calls for moderation, tolerance and moderation. Qattan confirmed that one of the most dangerous types of terrorism the Arab region faces, which is the blatant and continuous violations by the Iranian regime of international laws, covenants and norms, and its threat to the security and stability of Arab countries and interference in their internal affairs and support for armed militias that spread chaos, division and ruin in many Arab countries, adding: "We have repeatedly called on the Iranian regime to desist from this disgraceful behavior and dangerous hostile action that threatens the stability and security of our nations and the safety of our peoples, and seeks division, disagreement and sectarianism without deterrence from religion and we still demand the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards Iranian aggressive practices and its sponsorship of terrorist activities that pose threat to the region and the world, as well.
