Dr. Abdurrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rasi, Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry, asserted that the policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been characterized by rationality, direct dealing with crises, and deep understanding of international politics in light of the strategic security threats and political upheavals facing our Arab world. In his speech before 149th session of the Arab League Council at the level of representatives in Cairo, Al-Rasi affirmed that the Palestinian Cause is still the central issues of the Arab nation in spite of all huge challenges facing the Arab nation. He added that the Kingdom's stances with regard to the Palestinian Cause are firm based on fundamentals aiming to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region with establishment of Palestinian independent state with Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as its capital which is compatible with the all international legitimate resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative which is welcomed by the international community. Dr. Al-Rasi stressed that the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks to support the Yemeni people and legitimate government in order to achieve security and stability in the Yemeni territories against the Houthi threat which is a big threat facing the region and international peace and security. "Within framework of solving the Yemeni crisis, the Kingdom supports the international efforts led by the UN envoy to Yemen in accordance with the security council resolution no. 2216, the GCC initiative and outputs of the Yemeni National Dialogue," he added. With regard to the situation in Syria. Dr. Al-Rasi confirmed that the Kingdom always emphasizes maintaining unity of the Syrian territory and safety of its people in addition to the necessity to strengthening and supporting the Syrian moderate opposition in order to start a peace process and form a transitional government through a comprehensive political process. In Libya, he expressed hope that the Libyan brothers are to overcome differences and unify efforts to implement Skhirat agreement and maintain the unity of Libya. "Iran must stop its expansionist policies which incite strife, unrest and conflicts in our Arab region and must abide by the principles of good neighborliness, respect the international norms and laws and non-interference in the internal affairs of the Arab countries," Al-Rasi affirmed.
