Two Chinese nationals and a Filipino were arrested in the Philippines after they sold illegal drugs to police undercover agents, police said Thursday. Senior Superintendent Bernardo Bondoc, a spokesman for the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, said the suspects were arrested Wednesday in the Manila suburban city of Caloocan. The suspects were identified as Chinese nationals Sam Sia Young and Dizon Go and Filipino Jhing Alvarez. They were apprehended after they sold 100 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, the most popular narcotic in the Philippines, to undercover policemen, Bondoc said. "The suspects are still being investigated at the anti-drug task force headquarters," he said. "Charges of selling dangerous drugs are already being readied against them." Under Philippine laws, the suspects could face the death penalty if found guilty of selling narcotics. --SP 1330 Local Time 1030 GMT
